EOS KSI Slovensko, s.r.o. has not provided any information to the Central Register of Debtors of the Slovak Republic

After the Consumer Centre pointed out that the Central Register of Debtors of the Slovak Republic (CERD) is not an official register from which financial institutions can draw data when assessing a client's creditworthiness, and that documents provided by citizens to the Consumer Centre show that CERD records debts from consumer loans assigned to EOS KSI Slovensko, s.r.o., the company EOS KSI Slovensko, s.r.o. declares that it has not provided CERD with any information about consumers, nor does it cooperate with this register in any way.

The Consumer Centre reported that several consumers contacted it after registering for free on the registerdlznikov.sk website. After registration, they were issued an invoice for 500 euros for identity verification, which CERD plans to record as a debt or enforce if unpaid. Consumers were allegedly led to register after being told they were listed in the said register, with a recommendation to register on the website and resolve the situation.

According to their claims, the debts for which they are supposedly listed in the register were long ago paid off, annulled by courts, or are statute-barred.

"From the documents that citizens provided to the Consumer Centre, it appears that CERD SR records debts from consumer loans that were assigned to the collection company EOS KSI. However, the legal basis under which sensitive consumer data ended up in an unofficial register is not yet known," the Consumer Centre stated to the media.

EOS KSI Slovensko, s.r.o. points out that the statement in question contains incomplete and misleading claims that affect its good reputation, as it may create the impression that EOS KSI Slovensko, s.r.o. directly provided the data on consumers and debts to this unofficial register. The statement implies that what is not yet known is the legal title (legal reason) for providing this data. It does not imply that the source of the data is also unknown.

Our company has not provided any data to CERD, and we do not cooperate with this unofficial register in any way. EOS KSI Slovensko, s.r.o., which has been granted a license by the National Bank of Slovakia to provide consumer loans and whose related activities are supervised by the National Bank of Slovakia, acts in accordance with and within the limits of the laws of the Slovak Republic when providing data on consumer loans. EOS KSI Slovensko, s.r.o. provides data on consumer loans only to Registra úverov, s.r.o., which is one of the official registers maintained by the National Bank of Slovakia.

We have a strong interest in identifying the source and legal basis for the provision of data to CERD and will provide the necessary cooperation to clarify actions that are not in line with the legal order of the Slovak Republic and to pursue legal consequences for such unlawful actions.

At the same time, we note that the National Bank of Slovakia has also warned about the activities of CERD. Its spokesman, Mr. Peter Majer, told TASR: "The NBS recommends that consumers do not register with the CERD register. It remains the case that CERD is not recorded as an official register, and the warning on the NBS website is still valid. We have also filed a criminal complaint regarding CERD."
